Swedish lighting manufacturer Zero Interior bills itself as a company producing lighting for the contract market, but we at Global Lighting have found many of the company’s fixtures, especially the brightly-hued pendants they produce, are quite popular with the consumer media. This leads us to suspect their well-engineered products we now bring to North America will have designers snapping them up for interiors as much as architects are keying in on them for projects. This is why it is so apropos that Zero Interior’s CEO Per Gill describes their products as “architectural/decorative with a twist.” Manufactured in the Zero Interior factory, a picturesque brick building in the southeast of Sweden, their products are evidence that there’s a serious sense of pride in the country’s design history for the owners. Given that 80% of the materials they use to make their fixtures are in close proximity to their plant, Gill explains that their products, like their pendants made from a surprising array of materials, reflect some important keywords: innovation, quality, attraction and durability.
