Willowlamp

Adam Hoets, the founder and creative director of Willowlamp, launched the company with one simple idea—the Willowlamp notch system that allows curtains of ball-chain to flow elegantly from laser-cut steel frames. This was a natural evolution for the designer, as he has always been inspired by nature’s sculptural forms. The award-winning, cutting-edge designs produced by this company bring life and light to large and small spaces all over the world. Shaped by the principles of sacred geometry and built with world-class lighting technology, the designs manufactured by Willowlamp have superior craftsmanship behind them, which makes them timeless, functional works of art.

Shaped by the principles of sacred geometry and built with world-class lighting technology, the designs manufactured by Willowlamp have superior craftsmanship and materials behind them, which makes them timeless, functional works of art.

“When you purchase a Willowlamp,” Hoets says, “it will be a true investment in style, creativity, and individual expression.” Since 2007 when the Willowlamp notch was patented, the manufacturer has built a reliable team of trading partners, specialized industrial suppliers, and in-house professionals whose work ethic and skill are vital to the company’s success. The manufacturer’s industrial partners deliver precision laser-cut, machined, and finished components that are integrated into their light fixtures. The Willowlamp team then hand-assembles each design with a meticulous attention to detail in the immaculate, highly organized factory the company maintains. Beyond the manufacturer’s presence on the global design stage with set collections, Willowlamp undertakes custom designs that offer nearly endless possibilities in configurations. The company has created bespoke installations for hotels and private homes around the globe. Custom-made Willowlamps can be large installations, one-off creations, or limited editions; each of which is flat-packed and shipped for ease of delivery.

The design awards the company has received illustrate the creative vivacity its products exude. The 2019 awards include two LIT Awards and two D’Ark Awards. Earlier awards also include a Guild Foundation Award, a 100% Design Award for Best Lighting, a SABS design excellence award, and three Elle Décor awards for lighting designer of the year (in 2006 and 2007) and overall designer of the year. The manufacturer has exhibited at Euroluce within Salone del mobile in Milan, Design Days Dubai, 100% Design in Johannesburg and London, Light Junction in London, Art Basel, ICFF in New York City, Ambiente in Frankfurt, and Maison et Objet in Paris. Willowlamp was also involved in the “Global Africa Project” produced by the Museum of Arts & Design in New York City in 2010. The award-winning brand is available in North America through Global Lighting.
