Nashville, TN, Interior Designer/Photographer
Kathy Sandler founded the eponymous firm Sandler Design Group, LLC, in 2002 with an eye to including an element of the unexpected within each project undertaken. A proponent of reuse and recycling, SDG has perfected the art of utilizing a homeowner’s existing spaces and furnishings whenever possible. Combining proper proportions with an eye toward quality finishes, a judicious use of color and a touch of whimsy, SDG strives to create a sense of balance and harmony, as well as a sense of place in the home—all attributes that grow out of Kathy’s refined sensibilities.
A committed supporter of arts and education, Kathy holds a BFA in interior design. Also an avid photographer, her work has appeared in the pages of Traditional Home, on gallery walls in New York City, and in a national ad campaign for Sunbrella®. Author of the blog “Live The Fine Life,” Kathy’s passion for great design, fine arts and photography makes this a notable place on the web for fans of high style in a variety of categories. She admits to a habit of losing track of time when she is immersed in these beloved subjects, quite possibly the reason she is known as a virtuoso when she writes, when she is designing and when she is creating art. Always fueled by the challenge of new projects, by a desire to learn and by a love of her family, the only thing that could possibly be more energizing is an intravenous drip of Peets® coffee!
We were over the moon when this astute design professional agreed to be one of our Global Lighting tastemakers. Her review of Atle Tveit’s Acorn pendant, which is included in our Stratos Collection, is a beckoning narrative that entices readers to step into a shared dream. Now that’s what we call taking design to heart!
