The Gear Table Double

If the phrase “like a cog in a wheel” brings to mind old industrial fittings, we must introduce the Gear table double lamp because it is so contemporary in its cleverness, it will be a stand-out in interiors from modern to loft contemporary. The smartness of this lamp, designed by Johan Lindstén, eclipses its style, as the shade height and angle are adjustable by merely moving a lever. Made of aluminum and steel, the Gear table lamp comes in a matte black finish that enhances the masculinity of its lines. We also offer the Gear in a floor lamp.Request a Quote

Johan Lindstén has created a versatile presence in the design industry through his eponymous Johan Lindstén Form Studio. Based in Stockholm, Sweden, his projects and products encompass furniture, lighting, sound-absorbing wall panels with geometric felicity, and playful accessories.

He is the visionary behind the Gear series of fixtures, which are included in our Stratos Collection. He calls it “a modern take and interpretation of the classic desk lamp.” He adds, “Functionalism and industrialism are mixed with Scandinavian minimalism to result in Northern Lighting’s vision for the future table lamp. It has a wide range of movement thanks to the gear attached to the end of the mobile arm.”

The Swedish native’s products have been tapped for inclusion in the collections of museums, such as Nordiska, Sweden’s largest institution showcasing the country’s cultural history. He sees his designs as bonding opportunities with the end-user, each meant to impact the room in which it is placed in a very personal and sensual way.

He defines his take on designing as nothing short of a state of mind through which he shares beauty and joy with those who buy his products. His clients include A-list companies such as Cappellini, Johanson, Roche Bobois and Northern Lighting. Given the breadth of products he has created since graduating from design school in 2008, we are betting you will be seeing quite a lot of this creative in the future.
