Miami designer Josh Fein

Those of us who have followed Josh Fein are not at all surprised his popularity is on the rise on the South Florida design scene with the founding of his eponymous design firm Fein Zalkin Interiors. Along with fashion/design savant Jenny Zalkin, his partner in the company, Josh is making a name for himself conceiving some of the state’s toniest interiors. This latest move represents a natural trajectory for Josh that reaches back into a storied history in the design industry, experience that spans from the magazine world to one of South Florida’s most respected destinations for interior designers. In between these two hallmarks—premium publications Florida International Magazine and Architectural Digest, and the Design Center of The Americas (DOTA)—were stints with cutting-edge design brands Andrew Martin and Tui Lifestyle.

As he was honing his skills in luxury marketing and sales, he was using his design prowess to transform yachts and high-end residential projects into sumptuous backdrops for clients. Add the fact that he is a graduate of Savannah College of Art and Design with a bachelor degree in art history, and you can imagine the well-rounded point of view he brings to any project. Combine the breadth of his experience with the fact that Jenny made her name as an image consultant specializing in fashion styling, wardrobe refinement and personal shopping, and it’s clear the pair has every angle of highly personable decorating covered.

Josh and Jenny are quite comfortable taking their cues from their clients as they create interiors that span from traditionally elegant to contemporary opulence. Given Josh’s educational leanings, they are particularly talented at making treasured art collections that clients have asked them to include in their transformed interiors meaningful focal points. Proof they are on their way to South Florida fame? Earlier this year Jenny was tapped as a Star on The Rise (for interior design) during DCOTA’s 2014 Stars Of Design event; and there’s a wonderful article in Miami Modern Luxury magazine about the pair, which presents their “hots” (bold patterns and tufting, among other elements) and their “nots” (leather sofas and shag rugs in the mix). We at Global Lighting are proud that Josh perused our products and found a “hot” in the Mesh Cubic MM pendant from our Stratos Collection.
