Paolo Dell’Elce is a Milan-based industrial designer specializing in furniture, lighting and product design. He studied at Politecnico di Milano and at AHO Arkitektur- og designhøgskolen in Oslo, Norway, then launched himself into a fast-paced career. One of Dell’Elce’s favorite collaborators is designer Carlotta de Beilacqua. The dynamic duo has created numerous products, including lighting, for a number of internationally significant manufacturers, from Artimide and Danese Milano to Global Lighting’s Swedish collaborator, Zero Lighting.
Dell’Elce likes to concentrate on exploring untapped symbolism and materials, and discovering new interpretations of tried-and-true patterns and paradigms in order to make his products uber-relevant for contemporary life. His Tutti Frutti pendant for Zero proves that a light fixture with a playful countenance can be just as at home in the most serious of settings where work unfolds. A creative director of Danese Milano, the Italian designer has received a number of awards, including Red Dot and ADI Design Index awards, as well as a Young & Design special mention.
