As they say, dynamite comes in small packages and the power-packed style of Petite floor lamp, designed by Miguel Herranz, proves that big design can indeed radiate from a diminutive fixture. The extruded aluminum structure articulates, which makes it an excellent reading light. Shade choices include aluminum, polycarbonate or fabric, and available finishes are matt white and anodized gray. The light source is halogen.

One look at the home page of designer Miguel Herranz and it’s clear the Spaniard is fearless in terms of product design and cultural explorations. Herranz began creating his first projects in 1994, but the sheer volume of designs he’s produced would make it seem he’s been practicing industrial design much longer.
From furniture and lighting to automobiles and ceramics, he swirls within a world of “ordered chaos,” which he draws upon to distinguish himself in efforts such as the Renault 4 Ever competition by designboom (Herranz was a finalist). He’s won Good Design Awards and Design Plus Awards for an array of products that range from machine-tooled sleek to riffs on organic forms. His products within the B.lux collection are the Petite family of lamps and the Parábola light fixtures.
