Paul Bevis designed the Hil table lamp that gathers its beauty from the soft folds of light-infused silk. The tobacco-hued fabric lends the fixture a bit of old Hollywood glamour, heightened by its classically shaped chrome base and stem. This is a stunner in modern hospitality settings, and a personality-packed choice for the home boudoir or the living room.

Paul Bevis heads up Bevis Design Associates with co-director Lisa Boi. The UK-based agency manages interior architectural projects, product design and graphic design. Bevis has been designing hospitality and office interiors for over two decades—from luxury hotels to bars, restaurants and corporate offices. The designer covers the globe as he manages projects for companies such as Hilton Worldwide, InterContinental Hotel Group, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide and the De Vere Group. He attended the University of Hertfordshire and the University of Westminster, and undertook graduate work at Central St. Martins College of Art and Design. The firm strives to provide creative design solutions determined by its clients’ desires.
“Our philosophy is to provide the right functional and practical design solution with a creative and pragmatic approach”—a fine caveat to have in the highly competitive world designers work within today. But this firm takes their creativity one step further, questioning convention, anticipating future needs before clients even express them, and applying creative innovation to interior design solutions. They are particularly confident that their M.O. meets the needs of the hotel operator’s demands. “We understand hotel operators’ functional requirements and our clients’ brand standards for their city, airport and resort hotels,” the manifesto states. His design of the Hil table lamp for Grupo B.lux is in the suite of products Global Lighting distributes in North America.
