Barcelona heavyweights Quim Larrea and Gonzaló Milá have been racking up some significant successes in the fields of architecture and design. The design duo has serious symbiosis when it comes to experience and enthusiasm, which helps them to generate unique designer products that reflect a clean-lined simplicity, such as the San Marco lamp by B.lux.

Quim Larrea, a member of the Foment de les Arts I del Disseny, or FAD—an organization promoting the Decorative Arts in Barcelona—is the president of ArquinFAD, the section of the organization dedicated to architecture and interior design. Between 1982 and 1997, he worked in concert with Jordi Capella, proving his talent for cohesive collaborations, a precursor to the one with Milá resulting in this remarkably simple table lamp.

Industrial designer Gonzalo Milá is equally endowed with accolades given the design awards he has won for the furniture and lighting he has developed during his career. He studied architecture in Barcelona and began working in the studio of his father Miguel. His collaboration with Luis Victory resulted in a Castilla-La Mancha furniture award for the Arragón espiga clothes stand. Other awards include the AEPD Design Award (from the Spanish Association of Professional Designers) in 1995 and a ADI-FAD Delta de Plata in 2001.
