Luca Nichetto was educated as an architect and industrial designer in his hometown of Venice, attending the Art Institute and the University Institute of Architecture of Venice (IUAV). In keeping with local traditions, his first project was made of Murano glass; his second collaboration, with Foscarini, took him into research and product development for the company. He then founded his own design firm Nichetto & Partners, specializing in industrial design, with offices in Porto Marghera, Italy, and Stockholm, Sweden.

International prizes have poured in during his career—the Gran Design Award, a Good Design Award, an IF Award for product design, and an EDIDA (Elle Decoration International Design Award). Nichetto has served as a Guest of Honor at IMM in Cologne, and the designer has traveled throughout Asia, Europe and the United States participating in retrospectives and avant-garde exhibitions. He has served as a juror on a number of design competitions. Global Lighting distributes his Loos pendant in North America for Swedish manufacturer Zero Lighting. It's one of our most personable new pendants.
